Last Week around H-L&A
We spent a beautiful summer afternoon last Sunday knocking on doors in Bath - thanks to the folks in this great community for chatting with us!

Our CANADA DAY outreach was a great success!
We had a busy Canada Day visiting celebrations in the far-flung areas of Hastings-Lennox & Addington. First stop was the Canada Day parade in Marmora. Thanks to the good folks in Marmora & Lake for welcoming me to your celebration!

Our second stop on our Canada Day tour of Hastings-Lennox & Addington was the famous Canada Day Parade in Bath. My wife Jenn and my kids really enjoyed the experience, and it was an honour to share this important day with the folks in Bath and Loyalist Township.

There's nothing better during a parade on a hot summer day than being soaked by kids with water guns! Thanks for the cool-down!

The final stop on our Canada Day tour of Hastings-Lennox & Addington was an evening visit to Riverside Park in Bancroft, where we took in some live music and had some excellent conversations with local residents.

Special thanks go out to my family and my amazing team of volunteers for marching with me on Canada Day!
GRAND OPENING OF NAPANEE OFFICE!
On Tuesday July 2 we celebrated the opening of our Napanee office at 21 Dundas St. W. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception. We're thrilled with how this space is turning out--great visibility on Napanee's main street, with plenty of parking. We're still connecting phones and internet and training our volunteers, but we should be fully functional with regular office hours next week. Special thanks to those who donated items and to Eric and Susan Lorenzen who spent the weekend painting, cleaning and furnishing the office!
Thanks also to the volunteers who will be managing the office from now until election day. (We always need more volunteers - if you're interested in helping out, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.)
Drop by and see us!

We’ll be canvassing in Stirling on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. We will meet in the parking lot of Stirling Public School, 107 St James St. No experience is necessary; we will give you training on our simple canvassing strategy, and you will be paired up with an experienced campaigner. All are welcome! Email us at info@electSloan.ca if you can join us.
Update from the national party
We are very excited about the coming months of the campaign, partly because the Party is now beginning to release specifics on the Conservative platform.
In a series of speeches called “My Vision for Canada,” Andrew Scheer has addressed Foreign Policy, the Economy, Immigration, Confederation and the Environment. You can watch and read these speeches at www.myvisionforcanada.ca.
Follow us on social media
We are sharing information about our campaign on social media with news and timely updates on the campaign activities and events, as well as communications from our party and our leader, Andrew Scheer. Follow us and share our content with your friends! As many of you know, H-L&A is considered a “swing riding” as it was won by only a few hundred votes in 2015. We are very confident we will turn it blue this fall--but we need all hands on deck in order to do so!
Now that our Napanee campaign office is up and running, there will be lots of office volunteer positions available; email us at info@electSloan.ca or visit our website at https://www.electsloan.ca/volunteer if you're interested in helping with the campaign. We have a job for every skill set - there is a lot to be done!
Election campaigns are expensive, and the money needed to run an effective campaign must all be raised locally from donations by individuals. Please consider helping to provide me and my team with the tools we need to win in October. We are grateful for your support for this campaign and we will keep working together to spread our positive Conservative vision for Canada and for Hastings—Lennox & Addington. Donations of any amount are always welcome: when you give to our local Conservative association (up to the 2019 max. of $1600), that money stays right here in H-L&A, and up to 75% of your donation could be eligible for a tax credit on your 2019 tax return. We can accept donations from Canadian individuals only (not from corporations or businesses). Cheques should be made payable to H-L&A Conservative Association and sent to PO Box 111, Madoc, Ontario, K0K 2K0. We cannot accept cash or credit card information through the mail; however, you can donate online at: www.electsloan.ca/donate.
Join the Victory Club!
To reach our goal of being election-ready, we are launching Victory Club, a program that will go a long way towards reaching our fundraising target and will give us the necessary tools to run a successful campaign. Our target can be reached if only 250 people donate $400. A $400 donation costs you only $100 out-of-pocket after the generous tax credit! And remember, every eligible member of your household can donate separately and join our Victory Club. We recently had a husband and wife donate $400 each--$800 for the campaign and only $200 out-of-pocket for them! See below for donation info.
